I platinumed the game on two different PlayStation accounts and want to do it again on my PC. Fantastic movement, gunplay is top tier, and the story is engaging. It's unfortunate that all we've received of the series since has been Apex Legends.
I played through the Titanfall 2 story all the way through for the first time.
This is technically my second time trying to play the game. The first time around I stopped when I got to Effect and Cause (considered by many to be the best mission in the game).
My embarrassing fun fact is that I have a mortal fear of dinosaurs, and the prowler enemies in the game are dinosaur-like, enough to freak me out.
Effect and Cause has a BUNCH of these dinosaur-like enemies, in a tight space, constantly nipping at your heels, and I just got freaked out and couldn't think through the puzzle elements the game was throwing at me in my first playthrough - so I stopped.
I decided to pick up the game again recently on a whim because I'm kind of embarrassed that I work at Respawn yet I never finished Titanfall 2.
And honestly? I had a blast! Even Effect and Cause, which pwned me the first time, didn't give me any problems. (I tried to stay as far away from Prowlers as I could.)
I think Respawn really nailed the relationship between Jack and BT as you watch them form this bond over the course of the game, and BT slowly "comes out of his shell" so to speak.
I'm not very good at the movement side of things, and honestly I wish I could be in my titan more often since I felt like most of the game I was playing as just... Jack and those moments were when the game felt a bit generic. I understand why they needed to happen but it felt like every mission I'd spend a long period of time separated from BT when really the best gameplay came from me just blowing guys up constantly.
I also think the campaign is a bit short. Granted, it didn't overstay its welcome, but it's a game you can easily finish in a single sitting. I feel like there are interesting places you can go with it and the team simply didn't have the time, which honestly just makes me even sadder that Titanfall 3 never happened.
There is a multiplayer but I'll be honest and say I am not skilled enough to have a fun time in the multiplayer. I can't even play Apex and the Titanfall 2 multiplayer is like 10x crazier.
Overall, though, I had a great time and I'd recommend the singleplayer on its own! It gets pretty cheap nowadays so pick it up when it goes on sale and you'll have a good time.
