Mater takes a pit stop to tow a broken down car home and ends up in Japan. While there, he is challenged to a "drift" race through the streets of Tokyo all the way to the top of Tokyo Tower. Will he win the race? He will need some pretty slick "modifications" and a little help from his friend Lightning "Dragon" McQueen.
